The regional coordinator for the Food Safety Authority in Médenine, Mohamed Naji, confirmed the outbreak, stating that the affected individuals, aged between 16 and 32, received prompt medical attention at the hospital. Fortunately, their condition stabilized overnight, and they were released in good health the following morning. Investigations suggest the pastries, purchased from a local vendor, may have been compromised due to extended exposure. The vendor, however, does not manufacture the goods, focusing instead on retail. Crucially, initial assessments indicate the premises met hygiene standards, shifting the focus to the supply chain and product handling.
