Six Regional Governments in Kalimantan Honored for Inflation Control

The Ministry of Home Affairs has recognized the exemplary efforts of six regional governments in the Kalimantan region for their success in managing inflation. This accolade, presented at the 2026 Regional Kalimantan Outstanding Regional Government event, underscores the critical role these local administrations play in safeguarding economic stability amidst global uncertainties. Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian emphasized that while geopolitical tensions fuel price volatility worldwide, Indonesia's regions have demonstrated remarkable resilience. The success of Sukamara, Gunung Mas, Pulang Pisau, Samarinda, Banjarmasin, and West Kalimantan in controlling inflation is a testament to proactive local governance and effective regional inflation control teams (TPID). These local governments have implemented crucial strategies, including market operations and transport subsidies, proving that coordinated, cross-sectoral policies are highly effective. Samarinda, in particular, received a substantial incentive for its top performance, showcasing a commitment to keeping consumer prices stable within national targets. This recognition not only celebrates their achievements but also reinforces the national strategy of empowering regions to navigate complex economic challenges.
