South Korean President Lee Jae-myung has directed all available resources towards the search and rescue of South Korean citizens missing following a flash flood in Nepal. The directive came after President Lee was briefed on the situation, emphasizing the paramount importance of the citizens' lives and safety.

We must do everything possible to find and rescue our citizens who are missing in Nepal.

The flash flood occurred on August 26 (local time) along the Trishuli River in Nepal's Nuwakot region. The disaster caused significant damage, sweeping away houses and vehicles, and has resulted in at least eight confirmed deaths, according to local authorities. Reports indicate that the missing South Koreans were participating in the construction of a hydroelectric power plant in the region when the flood struck.

The lives and safety of our citizens are the top priority. We will use all available means to ensure their rescue.

President Lee instructed relevant agencies to cooperate closely with Nepalese authorities and local officials.
