Storm Ravages Poland, Tearing Off Roofs and Felling Trees

A powerful storm swept through Poland over the weekend, leaving a trail of destruction. In the Greater Poland Voivodeship alone, emergency services were called out more than 100 times as the storm raged. The severe weather resulted in nearly 20 buildings having their roofs torn off.

The storm's impact extended to other regions, with the southern Silesian region experiencing damage to its power grids and flooding on roads. Social media captured dramatic scenes of the storm's aftermath, showcasing damage caused by winds reaching up to 100 km/h, heavy rain, and large hailstones.

Local authorities issued urgent warnings to residents, advising them to stay clear of downed power lines and to report any observed dangers to emergency services immediately. The widespread severe weather prompted dangerous weather alerts across almost the entire country on Saturday.

Meteorologists issued further warnings for Sunday, anticipating new storms in the southern parts of the country, including the Tatra Mountains region. These alerts were in effect from 2 PM to 9 PM local time, indicating the ongoing threat posed by the volatile weather system.
