In a swift and decisive move, the Negeri Sembilan state government has ordered the immediate vacating of the official residence and office of the Sungai Ujong traditional chief (Balai Undang) in Ampangan. This directive, issued via a letter from the State Secretary's Office, follows a special session of the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang held on April 17, signaling a significant development in the state's traditional leadership matters.

The order mandates the vacating of the residential compound previously occupied by Datuk Mubarak Dohak, who held the position of the 10th Undang Luak Sungai Ujong. The letter explicitly states that all state government assets within the premises must be maintained in good condition for future inspection, underscoring the official nature of the directive.

While the State Secretary, Datuk Mohd. Zafir Ibrahim, remained tight-lipped when contacted, refusing to comment, the situation on the ground at the Balai Undang indicated no immediate signs of compliance. This standoff suggests underlying tensions or disputes regarding the leadership and authority within the Sungai Ujong traditional institution.

This action by the state government comes after previous assertions that it does not recognize the declaration by the Undang Yang Empat to strip Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir of his title as the 11th Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan. The state government had previously stated that the declaration was invalid, as Datuk Mubarak Dohak, who read the declaration, was no longer the 10th Undang Luak Sungai Ujong and lacked the authority to do so. The current directive appears to be a further step in asserting the state government's position and authority over traditional matters.
