Sungkyunkwan University Celebrates 112th Anniversary, Outlines Future Vision

Sungkyunkwan University marked a significant milestone this week, celebrating 112 years of educational dedication and service. The ceremony, held at the St. Michael's Cathedral, brought together the university community to reflect on its founding principles and to acknowledge the tireless efforts of its faculty and staff.

President Kim Kyung-moon presented awards recognizing outstanding contributions, including the Service Award for Kim Seong-won and Jeon Dong-ho, and the Outstanding Employee Award for Lee Jeong-jin and Cha Ho-seon. These accolades highlight the commitment and excellence that drive the university forward.

We will strive for educational innovation that strengthens the execution and creativity that are practically helpful for entering society after graduation.

Long-term service awards were also a key part of the celebration, with Professor Yang Ki-ho and several other dedicated staff members honored for 30 years of service. Additionally, Professor Nam Il-seong, Professor Jeong Yeon-bo, Professor Lee Sang-yoon, and Manager Park Na-hyeon received awards for 10 years of dedicated service.

We will expand the horizons of Sungkyunkwan University to the world by creating an environment where talented individuals from Asia and around the world can learn and grow together, centered on the International School, Graduate School of International Studies, and the International Education Center.

Furthermore, the university reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility by enhancing lifelong education programs and strengthening collaborations with local businesses and governments, aiming to solidify its foundation and contribute to society.
