Suzuki Jimny Sees Record 140 Million VND Price Cut at Vietnamese Dealerships

The Suzuki Jimny, a niche off-road vehicle, is experiencing unprecedented price reductions at dealerships across Vietnam. Reports indicate discounts reaching up to 140 million VND, bringing the actual selling price down to approximately 649 million VND from its original list price of 789 million VND. This significant price drop is largely attributed to inventory pressures faced by dealerships, especially as newer models have not been imported recently.

Initially, the Jimny faced a premium over its listed price upon launch. However, its specialized off-road appeal and a relatively small target market have led to continuous price adjustments. Some dealerships are even adding accessories to enhance the vehicle's attractiveness. The Jimny boasts a pure off-road technical configuration, including a separate chassis, 4WD system, and limited-slip differentials, features typically found in larger SUVs.

Under the hood, the Jimny is powered by a 1.5L engine producing 101 horsepower and 130Nm of torque, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The Vietnamese version is a 3-door, 4-seater model characterized by its distinctive boxy exterior and a minimalist, practical interior. Comfort features are basic, including fabric seats and manual controls, with a 9-inch touchscreen and automatic climate control being the highlights. Currently, the Suzuki Jimny stands virtually unchallenged in its segment in the Vietnamese market.
