Three Arrested in Mexico City for Aggravated Dispossession; One Faces Pre-Trial Detention

Mexico City's investigative police have apprehended three individuals, Yovana “N”, Arcelia “N”, and Genaro “N”, accused of aggravated dispossession in the Miguel Hidalgo borough. The Fiscalía General de Justicia (FGJ) reported that the charges stem from events occurring after a civil court recognized a person's ownership of a property and ordered its vacation on August 29, 2018.

The property was subsequently vacated and handed over to the rightful owner on November 15, 2018. However, just over a month later, on December 20, 2018, the owner discovered that the locks had been broken. The now-implicated suspects, Yovana “N”, Arcelia “N”, and Genaro “N”, had allegedly re-entered the premises illegally.

Following an investigation that gathered evidence, arrest warrants were issued for the three suspects. Investigative police located and arrested Arcelia “N” and Genaro “N” in the Azcapotzalco borough on July 21, 2026. Yovana “N” was detained on August 5, 2026, in the Miguel Hidalgo borough.

During a court hearing on July 22, 2026, Arcelia “N” and Genaro “N” were subjected to precautionary measures, including orders to stay away from the property, refrain from contacting the victim, and remain under house arrest. In Yovana “N”'s hearing on August 6, 2026, a judge imposed a preventive detention order.
