Three West Java Police Officers Detained for Intimidating Security Guard at HI Roundabout

Three officers from the West Java Regional Police have been detained for 21 days following an incident where they allegedly intimidated a security guard at the HI Roundabout in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. The officers, identified as Inspector Dua DG, Brigadier Kepala BS, and Brigadier Satu RPW, were reportedly in a Toyota Alphard when they were stopped for running a red light at a pedestrian crossing.

According to Head of Public Relations for the West Java Police, Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, the police have sufficient evidence that the three officers violated the Polri Professional Code of Ethics. "We have sufficient evidence of violations of the Polri Professional Code of Ethics as stipulated in Perpol Number 7 of 2022," Hendra stated on Saturday, July 25, 2026, as quoted by Antara. The findings will proceed to a hearing of the Polri Professional Code of Ethics Commission to determine the sanctions.

The West Java Police have issued an apology to the security guard for the "arrogant and inappropriate behavior" of their personnel. Hendra emphasized that even though the dispute was resolved peacefully, the disciplinary and ethical proceedings would continue. The police are committed to firmly and transparently addressing any violations by their officers, ensuring accountability to the public.
