'TO VIMA Students' Newspaper': Awards Ceremony for Best School Newspapers on Saturday

The esteemed "TO VIMA ton mathiton" (The Students' Newspaper) competition, a collaborative effort between the newspaper TO VIMA and Alter Ego Media, is set to culminate in a grand awards ceremony this Saturday. This initiative, now in its second year, has become a cornerstone for nurturing journalistic talent and critical thinking among the youth of Greece and Cyprus.

From its inception in October 2025 to its conclusion in May 2026, the competition saw impressive participation from students across both nations. The caliber of submissions was rigorously evaluated by a distinguished panel, comprising rectors from leading universities in Greece and Cyprus, academics, and prominent journalists. This meticulous selection process ensures that the awarded school newspapers truly represent the pinnacle of student journalistic achievement.

The ceremony, to be held at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, will be graced by the presence of high-ranking officials, including the Ministers of Education from Greece and Cyprus, as well as university rectors and esteemed academics. This high level of support underscores the importance placed on media literacy and the development of young voices in our societies.
