Two fishing boats destroyed in large fire at My Tan port, Khanh Hoa

A significant fire erupted at My Tan port in Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam, engulfing two fishing vessels. The incident, which occurred on the night of May 2, saw flames rapidly spread from one boat to another, fueled by strong winds. Local residents reported hearing a loud explosion before the fire broke out. Fortunately, there were no casualties as the boats were unoccupied at the time. The local fire department, along with other relevant forces, responded promptly, deploying pumps and using local boats to reach the vessels, which were moored about 150 meters from the shore. The fire was brought under control by approximately 11 PM. While the exact extent of the damage is still being assessed, the upper sections of both boats were largely destroyed. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the authorities. My Tan port is a vital hub for hundreds of fishing boats and a key location for seafood trade in southern Khanh Hoa.
