Updated Suzuki Fronx Spotted Testing with ADAS and Hybrid Options

Suzuki is preparing to launch a facelifted version of its Fronx model, with test vehicles frequently sighted on Indian roads, indicating an imminent update to the popular compact SUV. This mid-cycle refresh, following the Fronx's debut in April 2023, aims to enhance its competitive edge in the urban car segment, as reported by Tuổi Trẻ.

Visually, the updated Fronx is anticipated to feature subtle refinements to the front fascia, revised bumpers, and upgraded LED taillights. Inside, the cabin is expected to receive a boost in comfort and technology, with the inclusion of ventilated seats and the advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Level 2 suite. These additions are crucial for maintaining market relevance and appealing to a more discerning customer base.

The most significant changes are expected in the powertrain. While the current Indian market offers 1.0L turbo-petrol and 1.2L Dual Jet petrol engines, and some international markets like Vietnam have a 1.5L mild-hybrid option, the facelift may introduce a full hybrid or an EREV system. The EREV, which uses an electric motor for propulsion and a gasoline engine solely to charge the battery, promises exceptional fuel economy, potentially as low as 2.86 liters/100km. This focus on efficiency aligns with global trends and Suzuki's commitment to sustainable mobility. Additionally, an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option, similar to the Grand Vitara's system, and compatibility with E85 biofuels are also rumored, further diversifying the Fronx's capabilities.
