Uruguay opens call for Odoo programmer at $96,766 a month through year-end

Uruguay’s Social Development Ministry is seeking a consultant to work as an Odoo programmer in Montevideo, offering a monthly fee of $96,766 plus VAT for a 30-hour workweek.

The contract will run from its start date through December 31, 2026. The ministry may renew it after evaluating the successful candidate’s performance. The arrangement uses a services-rental contract with a sole proprietorship.

The selected consultant will help develop and implement digital tools for the ministry’s administrative work. The tasks include improving Odoo modules for purchasing, expense management and fund accounting. The consultant will also help design procedures for recording, checking and approving expense reports, including advances and traceability.

Other duties include supporting electronic case-file tools, integrating institutional systems, producing administrative-process reports and designing new solutions. A specialized panel will assess applicants’ qualifications and experience before conducting personal interviews.

Applicants must be students or graduates of engineering, systems or related programs at institutions authorized by Uruguay’s Education and Culture Ministry. They must have completed at least the first year, or its credit equivalent, and show at least one year of experience with Odoo development, configuration or functional analysis. Python and relational-database skills, preferably PostgreSQL, are required.

Advanced study, project-management training, Scrum experience, public-sector administrative experience and at least two years using Odoo will count as additional merits. The selected applicant generally cannot be a public employee, except for teachers and medical staff whose combined weekly hours do not exceed 60.
