Van driver detained over fatal accident involving student in front of school

Tragedy struck in Batu Pahat yesterday when an 8-year-old girl, Nur Aini Umairah Mohd Fareez, lost her life after being hit by a van in front of her school, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Seri Maimon. The incident, which occurred around 12:30 PM, has deeply saddened the local community and led to the detention of the van driver to aid in the police investigation.

The driver, a 60-year-old local man, had reportedly just completed a delivery within the school grounds. As he was exiting through the main gate, his van collided with the young student. The severity of the impact resulted in fatal head and internal injuries, with medical personnel from the Parit Sulong Health Clinic confirming her death at the scene.
