Vasco da Gama Announces Signing of Argentine Forward Facundo Colidio

Brazilian club Vasco da Gama has officially announced the signing of Argentine forward Facundo Colidio, marking their first major reinforcement for the second half of the season. Colidio arrives from River Plate and is set to bolster Vasco's attack as they prepare to face Olimpia in the Copa Sudamericana.

The club confirmed the agreement via social media, stating, "Vasco da Gama informs that it has reached an agreement with the Argentine forward Facundo Colidio." Colidio arrived in Rio de Janeiro to undergo medical examinations before finalizing the bureaucratic procedures for his transfer. The 26-year-old forward previously played for River Plate since 2023, and also had a stint with Tigre.

I want to return to the top level, and we are going for it," he stated. He described himself as a "fast forward who can play in all lines of attack" and excels in individual duels. In the current year, Colidio scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists for River Plate.

Vasco da Gama reportedly paid US$4.5 million to River Plate for 50% of Colidio's economic rights. The contract includes an option for Vasco to acquire the remaining percentage for an additional US$5 million, contingent upon achieving specific performance objectives outlined in the transfer agreement, according to Globoesporte.
