Vietnam Proposes Increased Subsidies for Contributors, Pushes Land Database Completion

The Vietnamese government is demonstrating its commitment to honoring those who have contributed to the nation's past struggles and ensuring efficient land management. The Ministry of Interior's proposal to increase preferential subsidies for individuals with revolutionary contributions by 8% reflects a dedication to recognizing their sacrifices. This adjustment, set to take effect from July 1, 2026, will see the standard subsidy rise from 2.789 million VND to 3.012 million VND, a tangible acknowledgment of their service.

Beyond direct financial support, the proposal also addresses the dignified treatment of national heroes. Enhancements to funeral support for martyrs and policies for maintaining their resting places are included, with certain provisions scheduled for implementation from January 1, 2027. These measures underscore Vietnam's deep respect for its history and the individuals who shaped it.

In parallel, a significant push is underway to finalize the national land database. While substantial progress has been made, with over 23.5 million land parcels meeting the 'correct-sufficient-clean-live' criteria, a considerable amount of work remains. Approximately 82.1 million land parcels still require data enrichment, cleaning, and verification. The government has set ambitious deadlines, aiming for significant milestones by the end of the second and third quarters of 2026, emphasizing the critical importance of accurate land data for national development and administration.

This dual focus on social welfare and infrastructural data management highlights the government's forward-looking approach. By ensuring that those who served the nation are well-supported and that land resources are meticulously documented, Vietnam is laying a strong foundation for future growth and stability.
