Vietnam proposes increasing subsidies for national contributors

The Ministry of Interior has put forth a significant proposal to elevate the monthly subsidies for individuals who have rendered meritorious services to the nation. This move, slated to take effect from July 1st, aims to bring these crucial benefits in line with broader national salary adjustments. The proposed increase, from the current 2.789 million VND to 3.012 million VND per month, represents an 8% uplift, reflecting a commitment to honoring those who have contributed to the country.

This initiative is rooted in directives from the Politburo and resolutions from the National Assembly concerning the adjustment of the base salary for public employees and armed forces personnel. By synchronizing the subsidy increase with the rise in the base salary from 2.34 million VND to 2.53 million VND, the government ensures a cohesive approach to social welfare and compensation.

Furthermore, the proposal addresses the healthcare rehabilitation regime for these individuals, maintaining existing rates while adjusting the basis for calculation to the new standard. This ensures that benefits, such as centralized or in-home rehabilitation, are consistently applied. The Ministry has also proposed that the increased subsidy rate for rehabilitation services will be implemented from January 1, 2027, to maintain uniformity for 2026.

With over 9.2 million individuals recognized for their contributions nationwide, including over 1 million currently receiving monthly preferential allowances, this proposed increase underscores Vietnam's dedication to its national heroes and their families. It is a testament to the nation's ongoing efforts to provide tangible support and recognition for their sacrifices.
