Vietnam's Home Affairs Ministry Outlines New Village and Residential Group Organization

Hanoi – The Ministry of Home Affairs is spearheading a significant initiative to reorganize Vietnam's grassroots administrative structure, with a new decree set to guide the organization and operation of villages and residential groups. This move, detailed by Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Tu Thanh of the Local Government Department, signals a strategic effort to modernize local governance.

Hiện nay, cùng với chủ trương sắp xếp thôn, tổ dân phố, Bộ Nội vụ đã phối hợp các cơ quan để báo cáo cấp có thẩm quyền về nội dung này. Theo đó, định hướng chung sắp xếp thôn, tổ dân phố là thu gọn đầu mối, giảm số lượng thôn, tổ dân phố và đảm bảo phù hợp với quy mô, thực tiễn, đặc điểm từng vùng, miền.

The core objective of this reform is to consolidate administrative units, thereby reducing the number of villages and residential groups. This streamlining is intended to enhance operational efficiency, making local governance more responsive and effective.
