Water tanker overturns on Periferico highway, causing traffic disruptions and injuring driver

A water tanker truck overturned on the central lanes of the Anillo Periférico highway near Paseo de las Palmas in Mexico City's Miguel Hidalgo borough. The incident occurred in the underpass of Periférico, causing the vehicle to lie on its right side and obstruct a portion of the roadway.

Security Secretariat (SSC) officers managed traffic, reducing and channeling lanes and implementing preventive diversions to mitigate complications and prevent further accidents. Photos released by the publication show the tanker blocking the highway.

Firefighters and traffic personnel worked for several hours to remove the tanker, using a telescopic crane. Debris from the accident was also cleared from the area. Paramedics from the Mexican Red Cross attended to the 32-year-old driver, who suffered multiple bruises but did not require hospitalization.

The driver was detained and taken to the Public Ministry agent, where his responsibility for the accident would be determined. After the cleanup operations concluded, the highway was reopened, and traffic flow improved.
