West Java Police to transfer case file of suspect Taufik Hidayat

West Java Police are preparing to hand over the case file of Taufik Hidayat, who is accused of severe assault and prolonged confinement of a 29-year-old victim, Yuvita Tri Rezeki. The case file is reportedly complete, and the police are continuing their investigation, including re-examining witness testimonies related to Hidayat's alleged actions.

"The case file for TH is currently complete in terms of documentation," stated Kabid Humas Polda Jawa Barat Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan on Saturday, July 18, 2026. He added that investigators are still delving deeper into the case and re-interviewing witnesses concerning the perpetrator's actions.

A significant step in the investigation was the reconstruction of the alleged crimes, which took place at the West Java Regional Police headquarters on July 2, 2026. During the reconstruction, Taufik Hidayat reenacted 21 scenes across three primary crime scenes (TKP 3, 4, and 6). The police noted that acts of violence also occurred at TKP 1 and 5.

Hendra Rochmawan explained that the suspect is being charged under multiple articles, including those related to assault, confinement, and violence. "This is a legal construction that we have applied and strengthened with the elements of the articles," he said. The investigation has involved approximately 31 witnesses, with two additional individuals needing further confirmation.
