Woman hacked to death in Gazipur home invasion; husband, daughter injured

A brutal home invasion in Kaliganj, Gazipur, early today left a woman dead and her husband and daughter injured. The attackers, numbering between 10 and 12, reportedly broke the lock on the family's gate and entered their tin-shed home around 3:00 AM.

Neighbors reported that the assailants prevented residents from intervening as they attacked the family with locally made weapons. The victims' screams alerted locals, prompting the attackers to flee the scene. Kamrun Nahar Akhter, 35, died from her injuries at the site, while her husband, Manjurul Islam, 41, and their 16-year-old daughter, Sanjida Akhter Mim, were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Kaliganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Zakir Hossain stated that the body was recovered and sent for an autopsy. The motive behind the violent attack remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made thus far. Legal action is being pursued in connection with the incident.
