Women prisoners gain elder-care skills in Malaysia

Women prisoners at Kajang Prison are being trained in elder care as part of an initiative intended to help them build independent lives after release.

The program was introduced through an effort led by Che’ Puan Intan Safinaz Redzuan Ranjit, chair of Agecope Federal Territory. It is presented as part of broader courses and training designed to give prisoners a second chance, develop practical skills and help them find sources of income.
