Yobe Approves N59.8 Billion for Road, Healthcare, and Energy Projects

The Yobe State Executive Council's ratification of N59.8 billion for vital development projects signifies a robust commitment to accelerating progress across the state. This substantial financial commitment, disclosed by Commissioner Alhaji Abdullahi Bego, covers a broad spectrum of essential sectors, including road construction, healthcare, transport, energy, and sports development.

The memoranda ratified covered road construction, healthcare services, transport, energy, commerce, and sports development.

At the forefront of this investment is the N34.1 billion allocated for road projects, encompassing the significant Kaliyari–Baymari and Bayamari–Geidam stretches. Additionally, N8.5 billion is earmarked for the construction of the Jajimaji Modern Market and enhancements to markets in Machina and Buni Yadi. These infrastructure developments are crucial for improving connectivity, facilitating trade, and stimulating economic activity within Yobe State.

The council also approved N5.3 billion for the transport and energy sectors, which includes the procurement of new power generators and the installation of solar street lights across 11 local government area headquarters. This focus on energy infrastructure, particularly the provision of solar power, demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to meeting the state's energy needs and enhancing public services.

In the transport and energy sectors, the sum of N5.3 billion was ratified for the procurement of new 800KVA power generators and laying of underground armoured cables and switch gears at Government House, Damaturu.

Furthermore, the allocation of N5.5 billion for healthcare projects and N3.3 billion for the upgrade of the August 27 Stadium in Damaturu highlights the administration's dedication to improving the well-being and recreational facilities for its citizens. As reported by NAN, these comprehensive investments reflect a strategic vision for Yobe State's development, aiming to fast-track execution and deliver tangible benefits to the populace.
