‘You all feed off Nigerians’ pain’, Sowore blasts Davido, Adeleke family in war of words

Nigerian human rights activist Omoyele Sowore and award-winning singer Davido have traded sharp barbs on social media, escalating a public dispute that began with Sowore's criticism of Davido's uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Sowore initiated the exchange during a recent interview, where he described Governor Adeleke as "brainless" and lacking substance. He also criticized the infrastructure in Osogbo, the state capital, likening it to a "war zone."

Davido responded to a clip of the interview shared on X (formerly Twitter), using the Yoruba term "Arindin" to call Sowore foolish. Sowore retorted, arguing that the description better suited Adeleke, particularly referencing the governor's past need to obtain a GED after serving as a Nigerian Senator.

Sowore further accused the Adeleke family of treating Osun State as their personal estate to fund their lifestyles. He characterized them as "oppressive, corrupt, incompetent, and entitled spoilt brats, feeding off the pain, suffering, and sorrow of Nigerians." Sowore also criticized Adeleke's political choices, including his support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, suggesting it was an attempt to maintain the family's control over the state's resources.
