Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni Agree to End Legal Battle

Dublin, Ireland – The protracted legal battle between Hollywood stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, centered around their work on the 2024 film 'It Ends with Us,' has finally reached a resolution. The settlement, announced via a joint statement, averts a potentially damaging and expensive civil trial, bringing a close to a dispute that has simmered for years.

Ms. Lively had accused Mr. Baldoni, who also directed the film, of inappropriate conduct on set, including discussing his sex life and attempting to alter the script to include unagreed-upon sex scenes. The complaint also alleged that producer Jamey Heath watched Ms. Lively while she was topless and that Mr. Baldoni engaged in a PR campaign to damage her reputation. These serious allegations formed the crux of the initial complaint.

"It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace."

The resolution comes after a complex legal history, including a countersuit filed by Mr. Baldoni and the studio Wayfarer against Ms. Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, alleging extortion and defamation. While a judge dismissed those claims last year, some of Ms. Lively's allegations of retaliation were upheld and were slated to proceed to trial. The film itself, based on Colleen Hoover's best-selling novel, was a commercial success, grossing over $350 million worldwide in 2024.
