Colonias Gold easily beats Félix Pérez and remains San José’s closest challenger

Colonias Gold kept up the pressure on Deportivo San José in the 2026 Clausura of Paraguay’s National Basketball League, beating Félix Pérez Cardozo 91-62 on Friday in Obligado.

The victory left Colonias Gold in second place, one point behind San José. The league leader had strengthened its position the previous day with a 113-75 win away to Deportivo Campoalto. Gold’s game at the Ka’a Poty stadium began with a dominant 35-8 opening quarter. The remaining periods ended 19-21, 20-18 and 17-15.

Diego Silva led the winners with 19 points. Ricardo Sarubbi, Henry Leiva and Amaro Calvo each scored nine for Félix Pérez. In the other game closing the eighth round, San Alfonso defeated Capiatá Bulls 126-89. Guillermo Araújo scored 41 points for the Bulls, while Maxsuel Roque led San Alfonso with 30.

The next round begins Monday with Olimpia Kings facing Colonias Gold. San Alfonso will play Félix Pérez, and Capiatá Bulls will meet Campoalto. San José will close the round Tuesday against Deportivo Amambay. The standings show San José on 16 points, Colonias Gold on 15 and Olimpia Kings on 14. Amambay, Félix Pérez, San Alfonso and Campoalto each have 10, while Capiatá Bulls have eight. A game between Amambay and Félix Pérez remains pending.
