Deregulation in Poland: Not All Barriers Have Been Removed Yet

Poland's ambitious deregulation initiative, launched over a year ago, is steadily chipping away at bureaucratic hurdles, with tangible results emerging. The program, spearheaded by initiatives like SprawdzaMY, has seen the implementation of 173 deregulation postulates, streamlining everything from business operations to citizen interactions with the state. This progress, marked by the enactment of 120 laws and the execution of 53 other measures, is not going unnoticed internationally, with other European nations reportedly taking interest. The collaboration between government bodies and the private sector, exemplified by the involvement of figures like Adam Malinowski and Adam Szłapka, underscores a commitment to reform. However, as reported by Rzeczpospolita, the journey is far from over. With 211 postulates already approved by the Council of Ministers and a further 351 accepted by the Government Deregulation Team, the pipeline for future changes remains robust. Yet, the sheer volume of over 16,000 submitted ideas, with a significant portion still awaiting governmental review, indicates that many critical areas still require simplification.
