Don't politicize further, if you want to be a minister, talk to the PM - Zambry

Barisan Nasional (BN) Secretary-General Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir has responded sharply to calls for BN ministers and deputy ministers to resign from the unity government. Zambry suggested that the critic, Datuk Mahfuz Omar, a Vice President of Parti Amanah Negara, should directly approach the Prime Minister if he harbors ambitions of becoming a minister himself.

Zambry, who also serves as the Minister of Higher Education, indicated that the issues raised by Mahfuz should not be further politicized, as explanations have already been provided by the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Mahfuz had previously urged BN to withdraw from the unity government if it truly stood by its principles, rather than challenging the Prime Minister to dismiss ministers from the party. Zambry, however, expressed disinterest in engaging with challenges or statements that could incite political tension, especially during the ongoing state election campaigns.

Zambry affirmed that BN would adhere to the decisions made by its top leadership and concentrate on engaging with voters. He stated that the party is participating in the state elections constructively and aims to avoid creating animosity. "We have already stated that we are contesting the state elections in a good and prudent manner. We do not want to create enmity with any party," he said.

He also stressed that there have been no boycotts or disputes with any parties during the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state election campaigns. Zambry urged all parties to respect the decisions made, discouraging speculation that could disrupt campaign focus. He concluded by stating that BN will continue with the established decisions for the elections.
