Estonian PM criticizes Latvia over 'Rail Baltica' project delays

Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas has voiced strong criticism towards Latvia, accusing its government of failing to present any official proposals concerning the 'Rail Baltica' railway project. Kallas stated that despite promises from Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs to share his unconventional ideas first with Estonia, Tallinn has yet to receive any formal suggestions.

Kulbergs had reportedly pledged to discuss his 'outside-the-box' thinking on the project with Kallas early on. However, since then, he has engaged in discussions about the project's restructuring with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and has spoken with the Latvian media. According to the Estonian Prime Minister, no official proposal has reached the Estonian government, causing frustration in Tallinn.
