Lithuania fields large team at European Aquatics Championships in Paris

A strong contingent of Lithuanian swimmers is set to compete at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris, with seven athletes and a mixed relay team scheduled for Tuesday's morning session. The championships, taking place from August 10-16, feature a total of 19 Lithuanian swimmers, including seven Olympians.

On Tuesday, Barbora Mileišytė will be the first to dive in at 10:41 a.m. for the 50-meter butterfly. Following her, four Lithuanian swimmers will vie for a spot in the 100-meter freestyle preliminaries starting at 10:55 a.m.: Kristupas Trepočka, Tomas Lukminas, Tajus Juška, and Tomas Navikonis. Dominikas Grudinskij will compete in the 200-meter backstroke preliminaries at 11:28 a.m.

The mixed 4x100-meter medley relay team will then take to the water at 11:58 a.m. The morning session will conclude with Džiugas Miškinis participating in the 800-meter freestyle preliminaries at 12:15 p.m. Finals and semifinals for these events are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. local time.

Lithuania achieved significant success at the previous European Championships in Belgrade in 2024. The men's 4x200-meter freestyle relay team secured a gold medal, Danas Rapšys won silver in the 200-meter freestyle, and Andrius Šidlauskas added a bronze medal in the 100-meter breaststroke. The team hopes to replicate and build upon this performance in Paris.
