Man found severely burned in his home's yard in Treinta y Tres; incident under investigation

A 56-year-old man is in critical condition at the National Burn Center (Cenaque) after being found with severe burns in the yard of his home in Treinta y Tres. Police responded to a 911 call on Friday afternoon reporting a man with serious injuries at a residence.

Upon arrival, officers found the man conscious but unable to explain what had happened. Medical personnel provided initial assistance before he was transferred to a local hospital and subsequently to Cenaque in Montevideo. Police reported that the burns are deep and affect approximately 20% of his body.

Scientific Police have processed the scene, and surveillance footage from the area is being reviewed as part of the investigation. The case is being handled by the Departmental Prosecutor's Office of 2nd Turn.

In a separate incident reported by the Colonia Police Department, a 38-year-old man died after his truck collided with a height restrictor in Nueva Palmira. The driver was trapped in the vehicle following the impact. Emergency services and Scientific Police attended the scene to determine the cause of the accident.
