From the Maksimir branch of Možemo!, we are clarifying the criteria guiding our street improvement initiatives, particularly concerning the ongoing works in the Kosa street area. We understand that residents naturally focus on immediate surroundings, but our approach prioritizes the safety and well-being of our youngest citizens. As such, the council of the Maksimir City District has consistently placed a high priority on enhancing spaces around elementary schools and kindergartens. The current project at OŠ Bukovac exemplifies this commitment, treating the school grounds as a cohesive unit for development. We've already seen improvements in Trnac street, Mogilska street, and Predškolska street, with additional seating planned. While a proposal to connect Kosa street directly to Trnac street was considered for traffic flow, we opted against it due to potential long-term increases in traffic volume and reduced safety within the school vicinity. Zagreb is exploring alternative solutions to improve traffic safety and efficiency in the area.
