Nasinu Rugby Team Eyes Deans Trophy Redemption in Semi-Finals

Nasinu Secondary School is inching closer to redemption in the Vodafone Deans Trophy competition. Their under-18 side is set to compete in the semi-finals this Saturday, aiming to secure a spot in the finals after falling short last year.

The team reached the finals in the previous year but ultimately lost to Ratu Kadavulevu School. Captain Jimmy Masilaca stated that the team made a promise to themselves to reach the finals again after their loss. They are now determined to do whatever it takes to claim the Deans Trophy.

"We made a promise to ourselves right after that game. We are now one step closer, and the boys are ready to put their bodies on the line when we play Lelean," Masilaca said.

Nasinu secured their semi-final berth after a narrow 28-26 victory over Cuvu College in their quarter-final match at Garvey Park in Suva. They will now face their Eastern Zone rivals, Lelean Memorial School, in the semi-finals at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
