New President Appointed to Polish Chamber of Insurance After 18 Years

After 18 years at the helm, Jan Grzegorz Prądzyński has stepped down as the president of the Polish Chamber of Insurance (PIU). His departure, announced in late April, came as a significant surprise to the industry. Prądzyński, who led the PIU through a period of substantial development, received a lengthy standing ovation at the XIV Congress of the Polish Chamber of Insurance, marking the end of his long tenure.

He expressed his intention to pursue personal passions, including motorcycle expeditions across Poland and the Balkans. His successor, Adam Uszpolewicz, was officially elected during the PIU's Ordinary General Meeting. Uszpolewicz, who had been unofficially tipped as the frontrunner for some time, brings a wealth of experience to the role.

Uszpolewicz, with over three decades in financial services and more than 20 years leading insurance companies in Poland and abroad, including a significant stint at Aviva Poland, has outlined an ambitious vision. He emphasized building value together by merging market experience with a willingness to innovate, actively listening to PIU members, partners, and clients, and maintaining an optimistic outlook. His ambition is to create a collaborative environment where knowledge and innovation drive tangible market growth.
