New Underpass to Enhance Safety for Pedestrians and Cyclists in Novi Zagreb

Residents of Novi Zagreb can look forward to enhanced safety and connectivity with the upcoming construction of a new underpass beneath the railway line. Večernji List reports on the 800,000 euro project that will link the Trokut and Trnski neighborhoods, providing a much-needed safe passage for pedestrians and cyclists. This initiative addresses a long-standing issue for the community, where children attending school in Trnski and Savski Gaj often had to navigate dangerous crossings over the railway tracks. The new underpass, approximately 25 meters long, will be complemented by a 185-meter-long path, significantly improving mobility and reducing risks. Deputy Mayor Luka Korlaet emphasized that the project's realization will drastically improve safety and the quality of movement for residents, permanently resolving a multi-year problem. This development is a testament to the city's commitment to improving urban infrastructure and ensuring the well-being of its citizens, particularly vulnerable groups like schoolchildren. The project's focus on safe, functional, and accessible infrastructure highlights a practical approach to urban planning that directly benefits the local community.
