UMNO is witnessing a promising resurgence, particularly among the youth, signaling a potential shift in the political landscape. As reported by Utusan Malaysia, party President Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has observed a "new wave" of young individuals expressing a desire to join UMNO, a development the party is keen to nurture and capitalize on.

This growing interest from the younger generation is seen as a critical factor for UMNO's strategy leading up to the 16th General Election (PRU16). The party leadership, including its Women, Youth, and Puteri wings, is actively working to consolidate this support, aiming to restore the confidence of the electorate in UMNO and its coalition, Barisan Nasional (BN).

In a move to further engage and recognize community efforts, UMNO announced a substantial increase in the prize money for the National Women's Nasyid Competition. The champion's prize has been elevated from RM3,000 to RM30,000, a decision Ahmad Zahid stated is an appreciation for the participants' commitment and sacrifices. This initiative, alongside efforts to connect with the youth, underscores UMNO's multi-pronged approach to strengthening its base and appeal.
