Novorossiysk and Crimea hit by overnight drone attacks

Novorossiysk residents reported hearing repeated explosions overnight as Russian air defense systems engaged in an ongoing drone assault. Russian state media indicated that drone debris struck six residential buildings, one commercial structure, and a construction site within Novorossiysk. While casualties were reported, the exact number and severity of injuries remain unclear at this time.

According to the Telegram channel "Exilenova Plus," witnesses continued to report explosions throughout the night in Novorossiysk. These included impacts on a grain elevator and a cargo complex used for transit to and from the Black Sea ports. Novorossiysk is a key Russian port on the Black Sea and serves as the home base for Russia's Black Sea Fleet. Much of the fleet was relocated from occupied Crimea to Novorossiysk following repeated Ukrainian attacks on Russian warships and naval infrastructure on the peninsula.

Explosions were also reported in occupied Crimea. The monitoring channel "Crimean Wind," citing local residents, reported explosions near the Balaklava thermal power plant outside Sevastopol. In nearby Bakhchisarai, a resident quoted by "Crimean Wind" stated, "There have been many explosions since midnight, machine-gun fire was heard, and drones were flying overhead."

Further east, a large-scale drone attack was reportedly underway near the Crimean Bridge, which connects the occupied peninsula to Russia's Krasnodar Krai. The Kyiv Independent has stated it could not independently verify these reports. Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the alleged attacks.
