Osun Election: Sensitive Materials Arrive at CBN Amidst Distribution Plans

Sensitive materials for the upcoming Osun governorship election have finally arrived at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Osun branch, under the watchful eyes of political party agents and security operatives. The arrival marks a crucial step after a delay that postponed the distribution of these essential items.

The hold-up was attributed to the necessary reprinting of ballot papers. This reprint was mandated by a High Court order to ensure the inclusion of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), which had been omitted. The vehicle carrying the materials reached the CBN complex late Thursday evening, escorted by security forces, where inspection and offloading commenced.

Officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed that the materials are ready for distribution. Musa Olurode, the Public Relations Officer for INEC Osun, stated that all materials would be dispatched to the 30 Local Government Council Areas and the Area office on Thursday night. Transport and security arrangements are in place, with INEC officials prepared for the exercise.
