Pertamina Urges Periodic QR Code Resets for Subsidized Fuel Users to Prevent Misuse

As reported by Tempo, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is taking proactive steps to safeguard the distribution of subsidized fuel in the Jawa Timur, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara regions. The company's Area Manager for Comm Rel & CSR, Ahad Rahedi, emphasized the importance of users periodically resetting their QR codes. This directive is crucial for bolstering data security and preventing the illicit exploitation of fuel quotas by irresponsible individuals or groups.

Rahedi highlighted that a common indicator of misuse is when a vehicle's license plate, already registered for subsidized fuel, is found to be used by a second party. For those facing difficulties, the company also provides support through its contact center at 135.

The company's call for vigilance follows recent public complaints in Kupang City, where residents reported exceeding their subsidized fuel quotas despite not having refueled. Compounding these concerns, the NTT Regional Police have uncovered a case of subsidized fuel misuse, with one modus operandi involving the exploitation of other people's QR codes, potentially implicating 40 individuals as suspects. Pertamina reiterates its firm stance on sanctions for any violations detected within its distribution network.
