Police Arrest Notorious Cultist, Robbery Suspects in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command has announced a significant success in its ongoing battle against violent crime, apprehending two individuals identified as notorious cultists and armed robbers. The arrests, made in the Amoyo axis of Ilorin, follow a report of an armed robbery incident on April 19, 2026, at Kabba Kajola Junction.

Following a report received on 19th April, 2026 at Amoyo Division concerning an armed robbery incident at Kabba Kajola Junction, swift intelligence-driven operations led to the arrest of Abdulazeez Isiaq alias Pumpin and Rilwan Mohammed, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend another suspect currently at large.

According to the police statement, the suspects, Abdulazeez Isiaq, also known as “Pumpin,” and Rilwan Mohammed, allegedly subjected their victims to brutal assault. They were reportedly taken to an uncompleted building, used as a hideout, and threatened with death before being dispossessed of valuable personal effects, including an iPhone 13 and a Samsung A2S. A locally made pistol and one of the stolen phones were recovered from the suspects, who have since confessed to their crimes.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects assaulted the victims, forcefully took them to an uncompleted building used as a hideout, where they threatened to kill them and dispossessed them of valuables including an iPhone 13, Samsung A2S, and other personal effects.

Further investigations by the State Criminal Investigation Department have revealed that the arrested individuals are members of the Eiye Confraternity. Their activities are believed to be linked to a series of armed robberies and cult-related killings that have plagued Ilorin and its surrounding areas. The police have assured the public that efforts are underway to apprehend a third fleeing suspect and that the arrested individuals will face charges in court upon the conclusion of the investigation. This operation highlights the persistent challenges posed by organized crime and cultism in the region, and the police's commitment to restoring safety and order.

The principal suspect, Abdulazeez Isiaq, is a known criminal figure, and his arrest has significantly disrupted criminal activities in the area.
