Police arrest six kidnappers, rescue victims in Kaduna

The Nigeria Police Force has achieved a significant operational breakthrough by apprehending six notorious kidnappers and rescuing several victims in Kaduna State. This success, carried out by the Force Intelligence Department–Special Tactical Squad, highlights the persistent efforts to combat organized crime within the region.

The Nigeria Police Force, through the Force Intelligence Department–Special Tactical Squad, has recorded a major breakthrough with the arrest of six notorious kidnapping suspects and the rescue of victims in Kaduna State.

The arrested suspects are believed to be part of a well-established kidnapping syndicate with operational bases in Rijana Forest, a known hub for criminal activities. Their capture is a testament to the diligent work of our law enforcement agencies in dismantling these networks that have plagued communities.

Investigations revealed that the suspects are members of a kidnapping syndicate operating within Kaduna State and its environs, with links to criminal camps located in Rijana Forest.

This operation has not only led to the rescue of innocent individuals but has also shed light on the syndicate's deep involvement in numerous high-profile abductions. Notably, the group was responsible for the kidnapping of a senior police officer and his son, demanding a substantial ransom despite which the victims were not released until police intervention. The recovery of the officer's son unharmed is a relief, though efforts continue to secure the officer's release.

Despite collecting a ransom of twenty-four million naira (₦24,000,000) and other items, the victims were not released until police operatives intervened, leading to the successful rescue of the officer’s son unharmed. Efforts are ongoing to rescue the officer.

Furthermore, the investigation has linked these suspects to other heinous crimes, including the abduction of a young child and members of the same family, where significant ransoms were extorted. The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to its duty of protecting citizens and ensuring that all criminal elements are brought to justice. Investigations are actively continuing to apprehend any remaining fugitives, rescue any remaining victims, and recover the tools of their illicit trade.

The suspects are also linked to the abduction of other victims, including a young child and members of the same family, where a ransom of eighteen million naira (₦18,000,000) was collected before the victims were eventually rescued through police operations.
