Police investigate death of man linked to ex-prosecutor

Jakarta police are investigating the death of Sutrimo, a 42-year-old man found deceased on July 23, 2026. Sutrimo, originally from Banyumas, Central Java, reportedly complained of feeling unwell to a colleague around 7:30 AM that morning and was taken to a clinic in South Jakarta.

While at the clinic, Sutrimo allegedly vomited and foamed at the mouth. By the time ambulance personnel arrived, he had already passed away. The Jakarta Metropolitan Police Department is gathering information from family members, the ambulance driver, hospital staff, and other relevant parties.

As the process is still ongoing, we have not been able to conclude the cause of death.

Tempo has learned that Sutrimo is suspected to be the former household head for Febrie Adriansyah, the former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General's Office. Police are also investigating Sutrimo's connections to Adriansyah and other individuals. The clinic where Sutrimo was taken is reportedly no longer operational and has been closed for a long time.

Police have urged the public to refrain from speculation and promised to provide updates as accountable facts emerge. They are examining medical records, ambulance booking history, and the initial location where Sutrimo was found. Febri Diansyah, Adriansyah's lawyer, has acknowledged Tempo's message but has not answered questions regarding Sutrimo.
