Projects worth OMR43mn underway to sustain water supplies in North Al Sharqiyah

Nama Water Services is demonstrating its commitment to sustainable development and water security in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate through significant investments in infrastructure. The ongoing projects, valued at OMR43 million, are designed not only to meet the current demands driven by urban and population growth but also to lay the groundwork for future expansion.

Mohammed Harib Al Makhmari, Director General of Sector Project Execution in North Al Sharqiyah, highlighted the strategic approach focused on efficiency and sustainability. This vision aims to optimize water resource utilization and enhance the network's capacity to respond to increasing demand. The integration of water services across the governorate is a key objective, ensuring a more reliable and stable supply for all residents.

A major component of this effort is the second phase of the water network project in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi. This vital undertaking, with an investment exceeding OMR15 million, will extend services to previously uncovered villages. The project involves extensive technical work, including the installation of transmission and distribution lines, a pumping station, and an elevated tank, all designed to improve distribution efficiency and supply stability for over 4,000 homes.

the objective is to maximise the efficiency of water resource utilisation and increase network readiness to respond to growing demand, achieving integration in water services at the governorate level and preparing infrastructure for future urban expansion.

Furthermore, the Wilayat of Dima W’attayyin is set to benefit from one of the governorate's largest projects, costing over OMR28 million. This initiative will establish a comprehensive water transmission and distribution system, complete with pumping stations, large-capacity tanks, and tanker filling stations. It is expected to provide more than 6,200 connections, catering to both existing and future housing needs.

this vital project, with an investment cost exceeding OMR15 million, covers several villages including Khadra Bani Difa, Al Khashba, Al Sudaira, Al Mintirib, Al Mutaili', Al Washhi, Al Wafi, Al Khurais, Al Tasawir and Al Majaza.
