Ronnie Liu Joins PBM

Ronnie Liu, a prominent figure formerly associated with the Democratic Action Party (DAP), has announced his decision to join the Malaysian People's Party (PBM). The move comes after Liu spent over three years without party affiliation following his departure from DAP.

Liu, who was a member of DAP for 41 years and served multiple terms on its Central Executive Committee (CEC), officially joined PBM, led by Julau Member of Parliament Larry Sng. His decision was revealed during a press conference.

Liu's exit from DAP in June 2023 stemmed from his dissatisfaction with the party's constitutional amendments. He particularly objected to changes that allowed elected representatives to automatically lose their membership if they deviated from the party's stance on core issues, which he deemed undemocratic.

Before leaving DAP, Liu had a significant political career. He served as the State Legislative Assemblyman for Pandamaran from 2008 to 2013 and was a member of the Selangor State Executive Council. He later represented Sungai Pelek from 2018 to 2022.
