Russians strike Dnipropetrovsk Oblast: two killed, two injured in renewed attacks

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast has once again come under brutal attack from Russian forces, with the latest strikes hitting two districts and leaving a trail of destruction and casualties. According to Oleksandr Hanzha, the Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, the enemy unleashed nearly 20 attacks using artillery and drones, targeting critical infrastructure, commercial establishments, and residential areas.

The Nikopol district bore the brunt of the assault, with the city of Nikopol itself, along with the Marhanets and Chervonohryhorivka hromadas, suffering damage. Tragically, two lives were lost in these attacks: a 35-year-old man and another individual in the Synelnykove district. Several others were injured, including a 39-year-old woman who is in serious condition, and a 31-year-old man receiving outpatient treatment. The damage extended to a kiosk, a shop, a café, and numerous houses, disrupting the lives of civilians.

In the Synelnykove district, the Dubovyky hromada was also targeted, resulting in damage to a company and agricultural machinery. This relentless barrage underscores the ongoing threat faced by Ukrainian civilians, even as the conflict continues. The attacks serve as a grim reminder of the human cost of this aggression, with infrastructure and livelihoods being systematically destroyed.

This latest assault follows closely on the heels of another Russian attack on May 8th, which targeted civilian infrastructure in the village of Pecheniuhy in Chernihiv Oblast, resulting in one death and two injuries. From our perspective in Ukraine, these attacks are not isolated incidents but part of a sustained campaign of terror aimed at demoralizing our population and crippling our nation. While international news may focus on the broader geopolitical implications, for us, these are direct assaults on our homes, our communities, and our very existence. We are grateful for the resilience of our people and the continued support from our allies, but the reality on the ground is one of constant danger and loss.
