Seoul at 27 Degrees, Gwangju at 26: Early Summer Conditions Persist

Much of South Korea is currently experiencing unseasonably warm weather, with daytime temperatures soaring to levels typically associated with early summer. On April 14th, the nation is forecast to see highs ranging from 15 to 28 degrees Celsius, a continuation of the warm trend that has seen many areas, particularly inland parts of the central region, surpass the 25-degree mark.

The weather pattern is characterized by generally cloudy skies across the peninsula. However, there is a forecast for rain in the southern regions, including Jeju Island, with precipitation expected to begin in the afternoon and continue into the night in some coastal areas of the southern provinces. Despite the cloud cover, the warmth is expected to persist for the time being, with temperatures remaining above average for this time of year.

Residents are advised to be mindful of significant diurnal temperature variations, with differences between morning and evening lows and daytime highs potentially reaching 13 to 15 degrees Celsius. This wide temperature range necessitates careful attention to personal health and well-being. Additionally, dry conditions in some inland areas, particularly in Gangwon Province and parts of North Gyeongsang Province, are raising concerns about fire risks, while maritime activities in the southern seas should proceed with caution due to strong winds and high waves.
