UK raises terror threat level to 'severe' after London attack

The upgrade comes in direct response to a disturbing antisemitic attack that occurred in London the preceding day, resulting in the stabbing of two Jewish men. Prior to this incident, the threat level had remained at "substantial" since February 2022, a period of over two years where an attack was deemed merely "likely." The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC), embedded within Britain's security services, made the determination to raise the alert.
