Variable, summer-like week begins in Lithuania

Lithuania is set for a week of variable weather, beginning with a cyclonic cold front on Monday that will bring significant changes. While the morning may offer clearer skies and sunshine, clouds are expected to thicken later in the day, leading to scattered summer showers and thunderstorms across many regions. These storms could bring heavy rain, intense thunder, strong winds gusting up to 15-20 m/s, and possibly small hail.

Temperatures will see a noticeable drop. Before the rain arrives, daytime highs could reach 22-27 degrees Celsius. However, as the weather system moves through, temperatures will cool, with western regions experiencing highs no higher than 19-21 degrees. A warmer south wind in the morning will shift to a cooler, stronger west wind in the afternoon.

Tuesday will continue the unsettled pattern as a low-pressure system influences the country. Expect changeable cloud cover with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing in the afternoon. Winds will remain brisk, with gusts reaching 15-17 m/s in some areas, and daytime temperatures will only reach 17-22 degrees Celsius. The night will be cooler, ranging from 9-14 degrees, with coastal areas slightly warmer.

By Wednesday, the weather is expected to improve as the cyclone moves away and pressure rises. Skies will clear partly overnight, with only isolated showers possible. Daytime will see increased cloud cover but limited rain. Winds will ease, and temperatures will begin to climb, reaching 19-24 degrees Celsius during the day and 8-17 degrees at night. The latter half of the week promises warmer conditions, with Thursday seeing highs of 24-29 degrees Celsius and Friday potentially reaching 27-32 degrees Celsius under mostly clear and dry skies.
