Yovie & Nuno Celebrates 25 Years with New Mini-Album 'Kilometer'

Yovie & Nuno, a stalwart of the Indonesian music scene, has reached a significant milestone: 25 years of creating music. Their latest offering, the mini-album "Kilometer," is not just a collection of songs but a testament to their enduring legacy and their ability to adapt.

We started production in 2021. The journey was certainly not easy, we were looking for a formula to make it fresher but still maintain the DNA of Yovie & Nuno that has been ingrained for decades.

The release is particularly noteworthy as it introduces the band's newest iteration, featuring vocalists Adhyra Yudhi and Chico Andreas. This fresh energy, guided by the experienced hands of guitarist Muchamad Ahadiyat and keyboardist Ady Julian, promises to infuse their signature romantic sound with a contemporary feel.

"Kilometer" delves into the universal theme of long-distance relationships, a concept deeply resonant within the Indonesian context, where many work far from home. The title track, as explained by Ady Julian, aims to capture the struggles and enduring hope of maintaining love across geographical divides. This is the first time Yovie & Nuno has involved Ari Renaldi fully in this EP. Although there is new input and new colors from the vocals of Adhyra and Chico, the common thread of Yovie & Nuno's music remains.

With production spanning several years and the involvement of seasoned producer Ari Renaldi alongside founder Yovie Widianto, "Kilometer" is poised to be a significant chapter in Yovie & Nuno's storied career. If we talk about kilometers, the main thought is about distance. This song is dedicated to friends who are dating but there is distance, who cannot be together 24 hours every day. We want to describe how to survive and remain loyal even though they are far away in sight and sometimes feel far away in heart.
