BMKG Predicts Rain in Bogor Will Last, Jakarta Cloudy

Residents of Jakarta and the greater Jabodetabek region can expect a predominantly cloudy day on Friday, May 8, 2026, according to the latest forecasts from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). While the capital city and its satellite towns will largely remain dry, the highlands of Bogor in West Java are anticipated to receive rainfall throughout the day and into the evening.

The BMKG's updated predictions indicate that cloud cover will persist across most of Jabodetabek from morning through midday, with only a slight chance of light to moderate showers in parts of Bogor Regency. This consistent cloudiness contributes to a relatively stable temperature range, hovering between 24 to 32 degrees Celsius across the majority of the metropolitan area.

In contrast, Bogor is set for a wetter experience, with rain expected to continue until around 7 PM. This precipitation will keep temperatures in Bogor slightly cooler, ranging from 22 to 30 degrees Celsius. The prevailing winds are noted to be blowing southeast at varying speeds, with gusts reaching up to 30 kilometers per hour. This weather pattern is typical for the region during this period, offering a brief respite from the heat for those in Bogor.
